These song videos are scratch demos, often recorded, mixed, edited, processed, and uploaded in 24 hours or less.
This project is a contemporary spin on folk music's earliest duty to provide songs that reflect current times. My roots are in those days when popular music mattered - when troubadour musicians were our poets and the vox populi. I like a tune that tells a story, has something to say, and says it with a bit of literary-ness to make it more interesting. And if ever we needed new protest songs it is now, yet, with the exception maybe of Jesse Welles, I can't find anybody out there today who is doing it in a non-strident manner, or doing it with enough lyrical subtext to keep me interested. So I'm doing it myself.
